  • Some applications require removal of distributor to install.
  • Do not spin drive before installing
  • Before installing your new starter, make sure the below conditions are first checked and satisfied (warranty void if broken.)
  • The (main) reasons a starter nose will break: bent armature shaft, ignition timing is incorrect, improper drive to ring gear clearance, or defective distributer cap/wires causing the engine to kick back
  • If you are not sure which starter your Continental engine uses, check the flywheel ring gear location on the flywheel:
  • If the ring gear is toward the front of the engine when mounted on the flywheel, you have a Lucas; order starter MFS069.
  • If the ring gear is toward the transmission when mounted on the flywheel, you have a DELCO; order starter MFS135.
